I assume that’s your road? Still have the day job or is it hopefully a “no where to go and I’ll go back home now” day?
Yeah, I know it’s winter there, here too. We don’t have mud rivers for three fourths of the time though. It’s snow and ice, or a good day. No sump pump until April at least.
This photo presented enough reason for you to stay home, tend the farm, and read a bunch. You sure you want that day job? Doc “retired again” might be looking like a good option.

Shouldn’t be the road, it hasn’t been wet enough during this series of cold systems. Pudding River as it winds under Meridian Road in Marion County looks about like that — open where the water is still swift, but iced in along the banks and in the attached wetlands.
The upside is NO MUD!! Even though it’s about 2 hours a day more work for me when it stays well below freezing, I can’t believe how much happier the livestock are on hard ground in 12* sunshine as opposed to 36* rain and mud.

My favorite road sign in New Zealand is “!”. It means something is amok, slow down. What’s not to like? It says it all.

Lovely, but very very cold!
