A few things, unrelated, or are they?

The Supreme Court. Unlimited Corporate spending on elections. This is a bad thing.

I want a Bugatti Veyron.

I don’t get twitter. I do read Rainn Wilson’s twitters, religiously, because I’m madly in love with him. What does THAT tell you? But that’s not the point. We can now receive Twitter from space. Isn’t that wonderful?

I’m loving facebook, but not because it gives me a reason not to blog. I love it because when Facebook recently made some change, most profile Wall posts became public by default. I love reading the status posts of people I can’t stand (and would never, ever “friend”). There’s nothing like poor grammar and spelling to fuel my superiority complex. It’s an evil pleasure. Shoot me.

And finally - this weather! While the rest of the country is having wetter/colder/nastier than normal weather, we’re having a mild and pretty normal PNW winter. The kind where it rains, but you don’t care, because it isn’t freezing, and you get about the same number of dry vs. wet days. It’s about time. We had the crappy constant winter storms for three years in a row. It’s everyone else’s turn now.

I agree about the new decision handed down by the Supreme Court. I do not want a bugatti, but I wouldn’t mind an old Toyota jeep. In blue.

We have unlimited corporate spending on elections today. It’s just hidden behind organizations with innocuous sounding names like “The committee for the preservation of food choice freedom” or some other such nonsense. If the new rules cause companies to buy their influence more out in the open, it might be a net benefit.

When I get my Veyron I’ll drive north west, so we can take a nice, long ride down the coast. Seriously, by the time I get one I’ll obviously have won the lottery and will have as much time as I want to screw around and enjoy myself.

Oh yes! There is nothing more fun than reading the Facebook walls of people who don’t know they are now public, whom as you mentioned, I would never “friend.” I’ve been a busy-body lately!

My son wants a Bugatti. I want a F250, crew cab, fully loaded–with 4WD. I will probably get an F150 program vehicle, fairly plain, but with the 4WD. It would take an act of Congress–or individual corporate welfare just for the company Me, Myself and I, Inc. to get the Bugatti for my son or the F250 for me. But one can dream!

Hoping that the shocking new corporate corruption legitimized by the split supremes, will lead to de-corporatization of our system altogether, along with the banking regulations etc . . . . my new American Dream!

COD, my initial reactiom to the USSC decision is that the corps could always attack ideas in their ads, free speech right? But they could never attack specific people with their unlimited cash, until now.

I know your kids are pretty much grown now, but I just wanted to share that Twitter actually has a large & friendly connected unschooling community. I’ve talked to many unschoolers (& this includes me) who have really gained in finding inspiration & community. Inspiration-wise, one of the unschoolers that I follow is currently running a #legoquest on Twitter. Neat stuff.

Also, as the following article explains, Twitter is our ID, and Facebook our Ego. (http://www.informationarbitrage.com/2009/05/twitter-is-our-id-facebook-is-our-ego.html). Personally, I skip Facebook all together.

If you run for a state or national office some corporation will buy you one. Ya’ know, for your campaign road trips.

I love the new FB settings where you can friend people, watch them make asses of themselves and yet make it so they can’t see you. Good times.
