WTF part II
7 04 2010So I get a comment on my “About Me” page:
Interesting to find you. I have a fledgling blog of almost the same name so I thought I’d come figure out who the hell stole my idea, i mean, what soul-sister I’ve got out there who also chooses to rant in the morning sun. 
Well - wishes to ya.
The blog name? Sunrise Rants.
This annoys me. It really does. I have been doing this gig for a long ass time. My ego, it burns. This is going to screw up my stats. All the baby killers are going to do a search, and find this mommy blogger. I have worked Very Hard NOT to be pigeon-holed as a mommy blogger.
I should have gone with something like Gookins.
Or something to describe the non-average state of your household, like atypical or something…
How about a name that describes the constant and never ending state of your work area?
You’re still first on Google.
But what I find weird?? Same layout/format. THAT is odd. Because if I were choosing a blog name I would search the name first….and second I would try to make myself pretty distinctive from others who were similar to my name/format etc…and if I were silly enough NOT to search first and came across someone similar to me I would FOR SURE change my look a bit and I might even mention them in a blog post or header so that others looking for them MIGHT find them.
Just sayin’. She’s new to the gig….so we must cut her some slack.
I know! I clicked through and FUCK ME, same theme -I thought I was home - until the creepy baby eyes pop up.
Seriously? In the world of the internet, this is a coincidence? What is the chance that she’d a) use the same name, and b) THE SAME THEME?
This is even better, although oddly, doesn’t bother me as much.

What the fuck is a gookin?
Woah!! I just checked out that last link!! W!! T!! F!! How the heck did that happen, anyway? I felt as if I’d slipped into an alternate reality or some such.
Coincidence? Right. Ain’t no way. Perhaps after your next blistering post that causes the crazies to come out in droves, this innocent new blogger will realize that she “accidentally” swerved into the fast lane.
I’m not sure which of the other two blogs is weirder, the creepy baby eyed one or the doomsday clock version. Ok, the doomsday clock one just caused a shiver of the “that’s scary” kind.
I dunno, I think Sunrise Rants is innocent.
But that other “Christian” blog? Good grief, have you people never had a single original thought or impulse in your lives? Get your heads out of Jesus’ fanny and get an actual life.
Type nearly any established blogspot address and then instead of using blogspot.com use blogpot

Doc, don’t give up and go to gookin, whatever the hell that is.
Not to be a suck up here but you are Doc and this is your domain. Creepy eyed baby creepy mom could be a little more creative and dig a little deeper and actually blog about something that is thought provoking.
Thought provoking and challenging and honest? Those would all would be trademarks of yours.
Uhhmm? The other site, creepy baby eyes? to that Mom, get a clue, find your own web world. You might be sincere here but find your own audience. Good luck with that. Be original and be sincere, but you aren’t Doc.
Doc, I’ll hit your site a whole lot more often. Please don’t go all “gookin” unless that is important to you.
Gookin rocks. I’m thinking of naming one of the new goats Gookin.

Wow, the doomsday site freaks me out the most by far. How creepy to aim a whole lotta crazy specifically toward blog traffic looking for you.

As soon as I found Doc’s page I wrote her a comment - and obviously it wasn’t appreciated!
I’m not a creep and I’m willing to change the address! But maybe just come and ask me?
I don’t have that much traffic anyways. I live far from all my friends and family, so I use the site to keep them updated about my life. That’s all.
Feel free to contact me personally. If Doc asks me to, I will completely change my page. It’s not a problem to me like is to you.

I’m not a scarecrow brainless mom - I’m a full time public interest attorney. I liked Doc for all the same reasons you all do. I did plan on paying attention to her lessons, Laurie. I’m so sorry to cause her strain or any of you readers but I don’t appreciate a personal assault. I guess I meant to say that Laurie wasn’t very nice, not Doc. It’s ok to be pissed. I promise I won’t mess up your traffic, no one knows about me, and I’ll change my theme and my poor creepy baby’s picture.
Someone took my blog name added a dot com and made a site with barely any content on same topics as mine and never ID themselves on the blog so someone may think it’s me. I have put off hiring a lawyer, I just don’t have time to deal with it. I wonder if they did it to get me to buy the domain off of them?
Anyhow, I know how you feel.
Haven’t stopped by here in a long time. Hope you are well. Going to catch up on more of your posts now. I appreciate that you speak your mind and are a thinker even though we sometimes hold different views.
